My Life or My Babies Life ~ Whose life is more important?

A father sits on the edge of his bed with his hands in his face weeping. In the background he can hear his wife sobbing in the next room. A week before his wife and he were a normal happy family of a beautiful 5 year old son till a tragic accident in a friends pool took the life of their little boy.

The father weeps. His mind is on little buddy. He recalls playing in the yard with him, wrestling in the living room, and seeing his big grin when he would bring a treat or gift home after work. The father goes into the next room and consoles his wife and tells her that all will be well as she buries her head in his shoulder.

The fathers mind is not on all the money he is going to save from not having to pay for college or having to buy a car for him. He doesn’t think about how much money he will save by not having to buy Christmas or birthday gifts. The thought of having to deal with hormones and attitudes as he grows doesn’t cross his mind either. All he is thinking about is his little boy and how he wished he had him back. That if he could, he would give his life for his own child.

This crossed my mind a few weeks back as I stood at the abortion facility here in Montgomery. Thousands of children are killed each year from abortion at this one facility and the number one reason is not rape or the health of the mom. It is the life of the mom. Nearly everyone that I have encountered that has come there has told me the reason for getting the abortion was simply, “It is just not a good time for me right now.” In other words, “My life is more important than the life of my baby.”

To some I know this sounds harsh, but as a parent and thinking of my own mom, parents give their life for their kids, kids do not give their life for their parents.

I recall very vividly my mom who would eat after my sisters and I had eaten to make sure we all had enough.  How she worked late into the night and how my sister and I would tag along and sit in a booth coloring at the restaurant she managed.  My mom showed me that parents give their life for their kids. She could have given us up, but persevered with a little help and raised us well the best she knew how.

This is what parents do. They do life on life with their kids. They mend wounds and heal hearts.  Again, what we do not do is kill our kids, we give our life for them.

I would say to anyone considering abortion. Do you believe John 3:16?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

If you do, then believe all that God says.

“Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:13,14

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:16

“In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?”  Job 12:10

Believe all I said above and then believe…

There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil. Proverbs 6:16-18

“‘Cursed be anyone who takes a bribe to shed innocent blood.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’ Deuteronomy 27:25

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live” Deuteronomy 30:19

“You shall not murder” Exodus 20:13

Believe and trust in Christ to save you from your sins.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Rejoice in all the Lord did in 2014

My friends, many thanks as always for the generosity of your prayers and for the support that has been offered to help with this ministry as we take the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the streets.  My family and I are beyond grateful for what we have seen the Lord do through people.  I rejoice to be able to share updates with you as to the fruit of what your prayers and support bring forth.

Everything that we have been able to do, has not been by our strength and intellect, but only by the grace of Lord who gives strength and wisdom to all. Proverbs 2:6

In 2014, we are thankful that over 20,000 gospel tracts went out into the hands of sinners!  That the Lord allowed us to speak of His wonders and grace to thousands at many of the college & high school football games that took place here in town as well as in Auburn & Alabama. Our local baseball team, the Montgomery Biscuits offered many opportunities through the months of March – September that have become one of our greatest mission fields during the season.

Just recently I ran into a fellow brother in Christ who works with the firm who planned and built the entertainment district downtown. I rejoiced telling him how all that was been accomplished by him and his firm was an answer to my prayers. How for so long I have prayed for an opportunity to witness, then the Lord through men, builds me a giant baseball stadium and turns the area into a place where people gather and can hear the gospel. Amen!

We began joyfully witnessing at the local university as well. We were met with some scrutiny by local groups who feared that the public proclamation of the gospel or open air preaching would be to offensive. We continued to go out and many have heard the gospel and have approached us desiring to know more and offered great encouragement to continue.  The atheist on campus even encouraged us toward our use of free speech!

Much of our time though as been and remains out in front of the local abortion clinic. Many moms and dads continue to find no hope except what seems right to them.  Over 100 children lost their lives in the past two months to this evil that is so prevalent in today’s culture.  I have joy that even though many did not choose life, seven people that we know of have decided to choose life let their baby live.  Our prayers is that they would not only choose life for their baby, but come to know Christ and truly know what it is to live themselves.

Two fellow brothers in Christ who joined me this year to ring in the 2015 sharing the gospel. Pictures of James and his son Tyler

We ended the year just as we had begin it. Proclaiming Christ in downtown Montgomery at the New Years Eve celebration.  A brother from my church came out and witnessed with me for the first time and them I was joined by a father and his young son who walked by and wanted to help. His son passed out tracts and talked with people and each of them praiseworthy held our cross high for all to see. The local news later said that over 20,000 people were downtown that night and some called me the next day telling me that they had seen the cross on TV with the words to “Trust Christ” written on it.  Amen & Amen!  May God for all that He does get all the glory!

I pray that you are encouraged and will this year strive to make God known in your own world by sharing the gospel with others.  Whether it be at your workplace, school, or wherever the Lord leads you. He is a KING and worthy to be made much of!

May you consider as well this ministry in your giving. We continue to raise support that allows us by His grace to continue.  We remain only at about 20% of our fully funded goal each month.  The Lord has kept and sustained us, remaining faithful to if He has called you to something, He will prepare and provide the means to do so.  Please pray and consider becoming a monthly partner to help take the gospel to lost sinners?

Your support will allow for people to get a bible at our Prayer Station and learn to grow into the likeness of Christ through the reading of His word. Or for young parents to hear the gospel and get valuable resources to help them choose life outside the clinic. It will allow as many people the Lord places in front of us to hear what is often taken for granted. It will let them hear that Jesus is Lord and He saves even the most wicked of sinners!

Sixty-Four Lives ~ More Than a Pile of Stones

Looking at a pile of pebbles and all one may see is well, a pile of pebbles. But these small stones pictured are a reminder. The first week of November of this year, I picked up one of these stones outside the abortion clinic as a reminder of the child that lost their life at that day. As each week passed, I collected pebble after pebble as abortion day came and went. On Tuesday November 25, two days before Thanksgiving, I gathered 12 small stones and placed them along with others that I had collected throughout the month. In all, I had gathered 64 stones. There is nothing special about these stones in themselves, they are just rocks. But they are something that is tangible. They represent a life, 64 lives to be exact. IMG_1022

Another note that I realized as I had placed them all together. That while their parents may have done the unthinkable, that everyone of their parents when they arrived that day to end the life of their baby, they heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. They along with their spouse, friend, etc. and every person who worked at that clinic that day. They may not have responded as I or many of us would have liked, but they will never say they have not heard. There will never say they their ears have not been sweetened with the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” Psalm 82:3

Please check out and watch both www.180Movie.com then www.BabiesAreMurderedHere.com and get involved somewhere in your city sharing life, but mostly importantly, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you,

David.

Abortion: Who made you?

10551714_10154612462600204_4625429611257396174_o My youngest son stood outside the abortion clinic a few days ago with this perplexed look on his face as he gazed at the window of the abortion clinic here in Montgomery.  He then asked me why do people murder babies? Sounds like a deep question for a five year old and it is, but we live in a time where anything goes and the only commandment people seem to live by is, “Do as thou will.”  Making my best attempt to properly answer his question, I pointed him to the bible which says, “Man’s heart is wicked.” ~ Jeremiah 17:9  “What is wicked?” he replied.

This morning I stood at the clinic and a car pulled up and out steps this young lady who had a familiar face.  She immediately walked over to me and as I tried to start a conversation with her, she reminds me that I had spoken to her early last week. My memory then began to come back to me. Looking for words, I simply asked her if she had the abortion and sadly she admitted that she had.  She told me to hold on as she needed to get a check up, but would speak to me when she comes out.

Not long after, the two of us are standing in front of the clinic, and she admits to me that she would never do it again and knew what she had done was wrong. She stated that the only reason that she did it, was to cover something up.

The point I want to make is what everyone knows. That God made you and he made all these babies. Every person who chooses to end the life of their child, no matter how much they put it in the back of their mind and attempt to dumb down their conscience, know very well what my five year old and even this mother today knows, it is a baby and it is murder.

To share with you a summary of the answer I gave my son about why people murder babies is the same reason people lie, steal, cheat, hate, etc. Because as Matthew 15:19 notes, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.”  And all that we see men do in rebellion against God who made them, it is sin and the wages of sin is death. ~ Romans 6:23

The answer and cure for all of it, for the murder of babies is simply the gospel of Jesus Christ.  So Preach Him! Preach His Gospel at these clinics.

Here is a great link by a good friend Patte Smith, who has witnessed at these killing places for years and has been used by the Lord to share the gospel and rescue many babies and souls. http://sanctuaryministries.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-to-begin-to-witness-at-killing.html

Amen.

The Sovereignty of God & Abortion

In April of 2011, the United States had the largest outbreak of tornadoes in its history with over 358 tornadoes recorded. On April 27 of that year, the city of Tuscaloosa Alabama was struck by one of those tornadoes; a massive F4 that had a width of over a mile and a half with winds that were estimated to be over 190 miles per hour.  One could only imagine the devastation a force such as that could cause. Indeed once the tornado had run its course, over 40 lives would have been lost, and hundreds suffering from multiple injuries.

A few weeks after the storm, the news continued to show pictures of the devastation and give eyewitness accounts of that day.  I remember seeing a row of businesses and how each one had been leveled and thinking of what about the abortion clinic? Did it get leveled?

I did some browsing and the abortion clinic in Tuscaloosa was still standing. “Of all the places in town for an “act of God” to occur, this is what survived.

The hardest pill to swallow is that God is sovereign, which is not a name for Him, but a fact.  It is easy if you just see Him sovereign over just natural disasters, but if we are to truly see Him as a sovereign God, He must be sovereign over everything. That includes the evil actions of men and the murder of children through abortion.

As Creator and Ruler of the universe, everything is subject to His will. If God is able to speak all into existence, able to split the Red Sea for His people to cross, and to do far more wonders, I have to say that if He were to decree that no babies were to be murdered ever again by abortion, it would be done.

My only answer that why such an evil is committed by men as of that of the murder of babies, is that God has His reasons.

“For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? “ Romans 11:34

God’s word reminds us of many accounts where He has done things that if reading for the first time, may have left us with our hands on our foreheads saying, “What is He doing?”  The bigger picture always reveals God’s perfect purpose and plan. Take note briefly in the book of Exodus.

Here we are given the account of Moses; a man called by God to deliver the nation of Israel out of Egypt from the hand of slavery.  As the word of God reads, Moses goes and confronts Pharaoh, tells him all that God has instructed him to say. Pharaoh would listen and allow him to go till God would harden his heart and he would change his mind and deny Moses the right to leave. God would them place each time one of a number of plagues upon him and his people.

Why would God instruct Moses to tell Pharaoh to let His people go, then harden his heart so that he would deny what Moses was asking?

We read much later in Israel's  history, under the leadership of Joshua. Spies have been sent into Jericho. They encounter the prostitute Rahab who tells them how the fear of the Israelites had fallen over all in the land, for that had heard all the Lord had done leading them out of Egypt, and to the kings beyond the Jordan,  Joshua 2:8-10.  The bigger picture reveals that all that God had done, the plagues, the hardening of Pharaohs heart had struck fear into the many Israel would later conquer.

Note as well the story of Job and consider too, that if any of us have ever looked at our life and thought we faced a great calamity, one must only look at Job’s life and see how minor ours begin to appear.  The book begins with a conversation between God and Satan. The first chapter tells us that God introduced His servant Job to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fearsGod and turns away from evil?“

Satan then responds by telling God to “stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has and he will curse you to Your face.”

God then – not responding to Satan’s challenge, but places all that Job has in Satan’s’ hand, all except his life.  Satan then departs the presence of the Lord and we read how all of Jobs servants were struck down by the Sabeans, Chaldeans, and fire from heaven; how Job lost all his livestock, and not to mention, all of his children, all in one day.  Job 1:1-11

Here and in events that take place around us today, We must not forget that as Christians who trust in a God who is completely and undeniably sovereign over all creation, we can only find comfort when we look and we see the evil actions of men, actions such with the murder of babies through abortion, because His word shows us, just like in the few accounts I have mentioned. That it is not Satan in control of this world, but a holy and just God. Satan to often given to much credit. As my pastor puts it, “Satan is just a dog on a leash that can only go as far as God allows him.”

Consider who brought Job up first, not Satan.  Who placed all that Job possessed in the hand of Satan, all but his life? Who gave permission to send the Sabeans , Chaldeans, and the fire from heaven? The Lord God.

The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. “ Proverbs 16:4

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.  Proverbs 15:1

“All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” Daniel 4:35

The reason I write this is not to relinquish our responsibility to begin with to labor to save souls and rescue babies from abortion. By no means is that my intent! I find it more motivating and a grace of sorts that I am not the one in control of how many babies are murdered/saved or how many will perish to hell. Why I will weep and plead with the sinner at the clinic or the street corner, I have to rest that God is sovereign and works all things according to His good will and pleasure. Philippians 2:13

Knowing this should not diminish our desires or passions to reach the lost grounds where the sinner may roam, but increase it without number. Because as we trust in Him and His word, it is there we obey and do all things for the glory of God, even if no babies are saved and not one sinner repents. Our motivation rest not on our results, but on God.  So go my friend, stand at an abortion clinic, find a sinner somewhere, and trust in God and no magic words or phrases to save the souls and babies. And do so for no purpose than for His glory alone.

Light the darkness,

David

Should Christians Protest at Abortion Mills? By RC Sproul Jr.

602880_248941998572716_2093239611_nYes and no. As I have argued here, there are some fine reasons why Christians should be a constant presence at their local abortion mill. It is true that different believers, even different churches have different callings. Trouble is, too often we “feel called” to that which is most comfortable, most respectable. If there are ten churches within a five mile radius of the local mill, and everyone of them supports Bible study programs for successful businessmen something is wrong. Just remember that both the priest and the Levite had some thriving ministries to get to back in Jerusalem as well. Our neighbor is the baby being led to the slaughter. Keep Reading

A Recipient of God’s Unending and Undeserved Mercy.

This past Thursday, my good friend Jeshua Screws and I were unanimously, by a jury of our peers declared “Not Guilty” of 3rd degree trespass after we had been arrested in June of 2011 for stepping onto tAbortion Mill on Perry Sthe property of Reproductive Health Services. As I noted from the time of our arrest and to this day, we only did so to avoid the sprinkler that had been installed not to water the grass, but to keep us from witnessing and counseling those who come to the clinic.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to my friends who have encouraged and prayed for us from the very beginning.  To the wonderful team of attorneys, who at their own expense graciously assisted us in this case. To all I am extremely grateful.

Indeed to God who hold the hearts of kings in His hands and who numbers our steps. I am beyond words grateful for His hand in this and the opportunity to speak of His great name.  His mercy and grace are unmatched and undeserved. To Him alone be the glory.

While there is so much that occurred throughout this ordeal and the trial, I want to share just a bit of something the Lord pressed on my heart as I prayed as the jury was deliberating our innocence.

Reproductive Health Services is Montgomery Alabama’s only abortion clinic and has been owned and operated by June Ayers since 1985. Ms. Ayers June Ayersdoes not appear in good health and often walks with a stick or with assistance from those at the clinic. She has not been always polite to us, at times cursing and giving us the middle finger. Her frustration and anger toward us is expected though.  She disagrees with our beliefs and we affect her bottom line.

However, even with the estimated 25,000 babies that have been slaughtered with her acknowledgement at this one clinic, she is still a recipient of God’s unending and undeserved mercy.

I acknowledged His act of kindness that as she walked about the courtroom slowly and dependent upon a simple stick to help her around, a stick created by the God that she so bluntly rebels against.  What a picture of God’s unending love!  That long before the world began, God planned that a seed would grow and from it a tree will come.  That the tree that grew would produce none other than the piece of wood that would hold her up. A woman who has committed her life to murdering unborn children that are created in the image of God.

The fact that He does not consume her is a portrait of His compassion toward sinners like her and each of us.

Considering this, I am reminded that none of us are deserving of even the breath we take. That the breath given to us is a gift God’s holds in His hand. How undeserving we are, everyone of us!  For each of us, every man that has ever lived has lived in rebellion against God.  As noted in Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way.”  From our first father Adam who rebelled in the garden to us and our children, all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. John 3:16.

Every man has committed numerous and aggravated offenses against a holy and righteous God.  Although not many of us may guilty of crimes such as the murder of babies, we often mock His providences, we covet the vanities of this world, we blaspheme His name by professing to know Him, yet live a life not representing of His calling.  And still, He shows unmatched grace that flows to us as it does to the chief of sinners.

The grace that I am trying to illuminate is alive and is none other than the person of Jesus Christ. It is in Christ that God, in spite of our many transgressions, our sins, our iniquities; that before the foundation of the world as part of God’s plan and foreknowledge, to bring glory to Himself and save sinners, Christ would be nailed to a tree.

That is grace my friends, unmerited favor!

That Christ, the perfect spotless Lamb would lay down His life as a ransom for sinners such as you and me, that by His blood we would be redeemed from the wages of sin which is death. For Christ did not die for His sins or wrongdoings, because He had none; He died for ours, to all who trust and believe in His name. Not only did He die, but he defeated death and rose from the grave and He lives today.

What joy is that! What motivation to serve Him in all honestly and truth! To live as free men that live as if they were not just set free from some sort of angry oppressor, but from sin. To be reconciled to God, to be made right with Him. What joy, thanks, gratitude we should respond with to have to such a thing happen to us. It is not as if He has simply only redeemed those the world esteems as highly, such as kings and princes, but whom kings and princes would consider peasants; that the Kings of all Kings and Lord of Lords would know our names and adopts as His own.

The CrossWho can truly fathom my friends the love of God. That before the foundation of the world, God would plan that a seed would be planted and from that seed a tree would grow. There God would demonstrate for all the world to see, His unmatched love and justice.

Please pray for June Ayers and all who come to this clinic. May God work His wondrous works  and draw them all to Christ.
